| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is honored to |

| 6 | 6 | | welcome Hamid Name Pineda, the mayor of Valle Hermoso in |

| 7 | 7 | | Tamaulipas, Mexico; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mayor Pineda |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon and is a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | certified public accountant; he became mayor in January 2008; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Pineda has been a consultant for the National |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Chamber of Commerce and the Red Cross and served as state president |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | for the Committee on Business Cooperation; a Rotarian for more than |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | two decades, he was president of the Rotary Club in 1986; moreover, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he has given generously of his time and expertise to many projects |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and organizations in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and northern |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mexico; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This notable leader has been recognized for his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | myriad endeavors in support of education and has shown particular |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | sensitivity to the needs of low-income students; a respected |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | humanitarian and philanthropist, he has taken part in many |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | charitable activities through the years, delivering blankets, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | food, school supplies, and medicine to people in need, assisting in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the construction and maintenance of the Center for Cerebral Palsy, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and bringing joy to children as a member of a group that provides |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | gifts, treats, and entertainment; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A man of great integrity, Hamid Name Pineda has won |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the admiration of his community through his selfless efforts in |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | behalf of others, and his wise counsel, warm compassion, and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | outstanding management abilities are an inspiration to all who are |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature of the State of Texas hereby welcome Hamid Name Pineda, |
