R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Franchesca Cain, the principal of Meadowbrook
Elementary School in Fort Worth, has been selected to participate
in the 2009 Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program; and
WHEREAS, Raise Your Hand Texas is a nonprofit, bipartisan
advocacy organization made up of business and community leaders,
parents, and other citizens with the mission to support the state's
public education system; and
WHEREAS, Through its 2009 leadership program, the
organization is sending more than 100 top public and charter school
campus leaders to The Principals' Center at the Harvard Graduate
School of Education to participate in a summer institute;
recognized for their exceptional training and the variety of
hands-on opportunities they offer, Harvard summer institutes allow
participants to learn from the foremost national and international
experts in the fields of education and leadership, as well as
renowned educators from throughout the country; and
WHEREAS, Franchesca Cain has demonstrated the passion and
commitment that are the hallmarks of our best principals, and her
selection for this prestigious program justly acknowledges her hard
work in behalf of Meadowbrook Elementary; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Franchesca Cain on being chosen to
participate in the 2009 Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Cain as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
