| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Franchesca Cain, the principal of Meadowbrook |

| 6 | 6 | | Elementary School in Fort Worth, has been selected to participate |

| 7 | 7 | | in the 2009 Raise Your Hand Texas Leadership Program; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Raise Your Hand Texas is a nonprofit, bipartisan |

| 9 | 9 | | advocacy organization made up of business and community leaders, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | parents, and other citizens with the mission to support the state's |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | public education system; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Through its 2009 leadership program, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | organization is sending more than 100 top public and charter school |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | campus leaders to The Principals' Center at the Harvard Graduate |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | School of Education to participate in a summer institute; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | recognized for their exceptional training and the variety of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | hands-on opportunities they offer, Harvard summer institutes allow |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | participants to learn from the foremost national and international |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | experts in the fields of education and leadership, as well as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | renowned educators from throughout the country; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Franchesca Cain has demonstrated the passion and |

| 22 | 22 | | commitment that are the hallmarks of our best principals, and her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | selection for this prestigious program justly acknowledges her hard |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | work in behalf of Meadowbrook Elementary; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Franchesca Cain on being chosen to |
