| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniela Santoni has provided indispensable support |

| 6 | 6 | | to the office of Representative Roberto Alonzo during the 81st |

| 7 | 7 | | Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A participant in the McClendon Scholars legislative |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | internship program, Ms. Santoni has managed her many daily |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | responsibilities in an exceptional manner, demonstrating a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | commitment to excellence and the perseverance to overcome any |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | challenge brought before her; during her tenure, she has worked |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | with the Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee, handled |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | legislation covering immigration, environmental issues, and health |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | care, edited weekly Spanish press releases, and addressed |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | constituent concerns; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Santoni brought to her position experience |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | gained through previous internships with the community development |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | division of Phase Five, the League of United Latin American |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Citizens, and the National Association of Public Employees; she has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | also tutored bilingual children, assisted with Hurricane Ike relief |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | efforts, and been a volunteer with the Americorps Rape Crisis |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Center and Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This notable young Texan earned her bachelor's |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | degree in anthropology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | where she minored in legal studies; in 2008, she earned a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | certificate of legal reasoning at the Institute for Law and Public |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Affairs at UTSA; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Daniela Santoni has performed her duties in |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Representative Alonzo's office with skill and dedication, and it is |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | most fitting to take this opportunity to recognize her; now, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | therefore, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby commend Daniela Santoni for her outstanding |
