 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International for 50
 years, Audrey Eoff of Weslaco is being honored for her myriad
 contributions to this outstanding organization at its
 International Council Convention in San Antonio on July 16, 2009;
 and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 1929, ESA is an international leadership
 and service organization with some 12,000 members in more than
 1,000 chapters; Mrs. Eoff belongs to Lambda Iota Chapter No. 2665
 and has achieved her 5th Degree of Pallas Athene; currently serving
 for the fourth time as ESA District III president, she also recently
 served as Texas awards chair for ESA; she herself has won numerous
 awards through the years, including the top prize in international
 ESA competition as editor of the 2007-2008 state news magazine, The
 TESAN, and she was selected as Outstanding ESA Member for the State
 of Texas in 2005-2006; moreover, she was recognized at the
 organization's state convention in May 2009 with a 50-year service
 pin; and
 WHEREAS, Among the many organizations that benefit from the
 efforts of ESA members are St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
 and the American Cancer Society; since 1972, Mrs. Eoff has worked
 diligently in behalf of ESA's successful national fund-raising
 program for St. Jude, and she was invited to sing several times for
 the hospital's founder, entertainer Danny Thomas, at the IC
 Convention; at this year's event, she will be recognized by ALSAC,
 the hospital's fund-raising organization; and
 WHEREAS, This civic-minded Texan has served on the Mid Valley
 Unit Board of the American Cancer Society for more than two decades
 and is currently serving as president; a cancer survivor, she has
 given generously of her time and talents to the Mid Valley Relay for
 Life for the last nine years and to projects supporting research and
 aiding individuals with cancer; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Eoff retired from the teaching profession after
 25 years, and she continues to lead education workshops and work as
 a consultant; she has been a valued member of St. Pius X Catholic
 Church for more than five decades and has served as chair of the
 Disciples in Mission Program and on a number of commissions; a
 devoted wife and mother, she is supported in all her endeavors by
 the love of her husband, Therman Eoff, and their 6 children and 13
 grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Through a half-century of dedicated service to
 Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Audrey Eoff has set an inspiring example of
 leadership and commitment, and her many accomplishments indeed
 merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Audrey Eoff on her 50th anniversary
 with Epsilon Sigma Alpha International and commend her for her many
 noteworthy achievements; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Eoff as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
