R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital
role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those enterprises
that attain a record of dependability and longevity enjoy a special
degree of esteem in their communities; and
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of Ed Hicks Nissan of Corpus
Christi have earned it an Owner First Circle of Excellence Award for
2008 from the Nissan Motor Company; to win this accolade, Ed Hicks
Nissan placed among the top three percent of Nissan's 1,220
dealerships in the United States, becoming one of only 4 dealers in
Texas and 36 in the nation to receive the coveted glass trophy; and
WHEREAS, Despite the challenging economic situation, the 86
employees of Ed Hicks Nissan sold 1,700 new and used vehicles and
met demanding customer service standards in 2008; this is the fifth
time the dealership has won the Circle of Excellence award; and
WHEREAS, By creating jobs and helping to strengthen the
economic environment of Corpus Christi, Ed Hicks Nissan is
contributing to the general welfare of that community, and it is
fitting that its most recent achievement be recognized; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Hicks Nissan of Corpus Christi
on receiving a 2008 Owner First Circle of Excellence Award from the
Nissan Motor Company and extend to the dealer's managers and staff
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the dealership as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
