44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Neerman family of Lake Highlands are among the
66 many North Texas residents who have benefited from the
77 comprehensive, high-quality services offered at the Neonatal
88 Intensive Care Unit of Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas;
99 and
1010 WHEREAS, On March 6, 2009, Jonathan and Tricia Neerman
1111 welcomed a son, Jonathan Danny Neerman, Jr., who was born 14 weeks
1212 early and weighed only 1 pound, 11 ounces; in this critical
1313 situation, Jonathan and his parents were fortunate to receive
1414 outstanding support and care from the attentive medical staff of
1515 the NICU, including his primary nurses, Angela Quant Weinbrenner,
1616 Lisa Stone, and Tina Wepler; and
1717 WHEREAS, Since its founding, the nursery has similarly helped
1818 countless newborns and their families, and it has developed into a
1919 Level III unit, which ensures the highest level of care available;
2020 operated by a staff of nearly 300 physicians, nurses, respiratory
2121 therapists, neonatal and pediatric nurse practitioners, and other
2222 professionals, the NICU remains a widely recognized,
2323 state-of-the-art facility, and it holds the distinction of being
2424 the birthplace of the twin daughters of George and Laura Bush; and
2525 WHEREAS, With its integrated, family-centered services and
2626 advanced technology, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Baylor
2727 University Medical Center has provided vital medical care to
2828 Jonathan Neerman and many other newborn Texans, and the efforts of
2929 its devoted staff are truly commendable; now, therefore, be it
3030 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3131 Legislature hereby honor Angela Quant Weinbrenner, Lisa Stone, and
3232 Tina Wepler, as well as the other dedicated employees of the
3333 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Baylor University Medical Center,
3434 for their exemplary service and extend to them sincere best wishes
3535 for continued success with their important work; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for Ms. Weinbrenner, Ms. Stone, Ms. Wepler, and the NICU
3838 staff at Baylor University Medical Center as an expression of high
3939 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
