| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Joyce Jaynes has played an important role in the |

| 6 | 6 | | enduring success of the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, which is |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Jaynes has been involved with the YWCA for more |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | than 45 years, during which time she has served as a member of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | board of directors, as a member of the Metropolitan Advisory Panel, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and, most recently, as a trustee of the YWCA of El Paso Foundation; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in honor of her many contributions, the YWCA central branch was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | renamed the Joyce Whitfield Jaynes Branch in 1989; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Committed to the greater YWCA as well, Ms. Jaynes |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | served on the national board for more than 12 years and was |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | especially active with the World Service Council; along the way, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | she impressed others with her tireless efforts to promote the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | economic, political, and spiritual welfare of women around the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | world; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers are vital to the betterment of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | communities across the Lone Star State, and Joyce Jaynes has set an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | outstanding example of leadership and generosity through her work |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | with the YWCA; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Joyce Jaynes for her admirable record of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | service with the YWCA El Paso del Norte Region and extend to her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
