| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bryan Cota of Tierra Del Sol Elementary School in El |

| 6 | 6 | | Paso has been named a 2009 Safety Patrol Student of the Year; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, For more than a half-century, the El Paso Police |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Department has coordinated the Safety Patrol program, and each |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | year, exceptional student safety officers are selected from area |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | schools as part of the student-of-the-year initiative sponsored by |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the Downtown Lions Club; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The son of Mario and Irene Cota, Bryan Cota is in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fifth grade at Tierra Del Sol; he is an A-B honor roll student who |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | especially enjoys his science studies and has won several accolades |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for his abilities in writing, reading, and mathematics; moreover, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | he is an accomplished viola player who has distinguished himself in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the University Interscholastic League solo ensemble orchestra |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | competition, and he participates in several sports; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has learned the values |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of dedication, respect, and responsibility through his involvement |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in the Safety Patrol, and he may take great pride in the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contribution he has made to his school; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bryan Cota on being named a Safety |

| 25 | 25 | | Patrol Student of the Year at Tierra Del Sol Elementary School and |
