H.R. No. 3043
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Watson & Maynez, P.C., law firm was recognized
with the Pro Bono Award at the Law Day Dinner and Awards
Presentation hosted by the El Paso Bar Association on May 9, 2009;
and
WHEREAS, Led by Matt Watson and Omar Maynez, the firm seeks to
help consumers in filing for bankruptcy and gaining federal
protection against creditors; it was chosen for the award because
of the number of hours of pro bono work as well as the outcomes of
the cases; and
WHEREAS, The Law Day Dinner provides an opportunity for
members of the El Paso Bar Association to honor lawyers and others
for their professional achievements, service to the legal
profession, and civic contributions, and Watson & Maynez is a most
deserving recipient of this impressive accolade; and
WHEREAS, Embodying the highest standards of the legal
profession, Watson & Maynez is an outstanding law firm, and its
staff may indeed reflect with great pride on the positive impact
they are having on their community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Watson & Maynez, P.C., on its
receipt of the Pro Bono Award from the El Paso Bar Association and
extend to everyone associated with the firm sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Watson & Maynez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
