H.R. No. 3048
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robert E. Jones, the political director of Annie's
List, has received a 2009 Rising Star Award from Politics magazine;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Jones was one of only 27 people to receive this
prestigious honor, which goes to individuals 35 or under who have
already made a significant mark in political consulting or
advocacy; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2003, Annie's List works to change the
face of Texas politics by recruiting, training, and supporting
women candidates across the state; Mr. Jones has played a leading
role in this effort, helping nine Democratic women win seats in the
Texas Legislature; and
WHEREAS, Through his professional endeavors, Robert Jones
contributes to the strength and vitality of the political process
in the Lone Star State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Jones on his receipt of a
2009 Rising Star Award from Politics magazine and extend to him
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Jones as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
