| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jones, the political director of Annie's |

| 6 | 6 | | List, has received a 2009 Rising Star Award from Politics magazine; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jones was one of only 27 people to receive this |

| 9 | 9 | | prestigious honor, which goes to individuals 35 or under who have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | already made a significant mark in political consulting or |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | advocacy; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 2003, Annie's List works to change the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | face of Texas politics by recruiting, training, and supporting |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | women candidates across the state; Mr. Jones has played a leading |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | role in this effort, helping nine Democratic women win seats in the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Texas Legislature; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through his professional endeavors, Robert Jones |

| 18 | 18 | | contributes to the strength and vitality of the political process |

| 19 | 19 | | in the Lone Star State, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |

| 20 | 20 | | notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
