No. 3052 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Throughout the Regular Session of the 81st Texas Legislature, nurse practitioner Tim Flynn has helped to enhance and maintain the health of countless employees and public officials who work in the Capitol Complex; and WHEREAS, Seeing some 30 people a day, Mr. Flynn provides diagnosis and treatment of many conditions, and he also works in conjunction with a doctor of the day during the session; his expertise often saves patients from having to take time off from work to make a costly visit to the doctor's office or even the emergency room; and WHEREAS, A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Flynn has a bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin; originally employed by the Texas Department of Human Services when he began his tenure as the Capitol nurse in 1992, he became an employee of the Department of Public Safety the following year, and is today employed by the Department of State Health Services; and WHEREAS, Mr. Flynn completed his master's degree in nursing at UT with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in May 2002 and became certified as an advanced practice nurse, or nurse practitioner, with a wider range of responsibilities; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Flynn enjoys the love and support of his family, including his wife, Becky, and his daughter, Jessica; and WHEREAS, Recognized on May 8, 2007, with the Austin Advanced Practice Nurses Alliance Award of Excellence, this exemplary health care professional has earned the respect and friendship of all who work at the Capitol; reliable, hard-working, and knowledgeable, he is justly esteemed for the skill, compassion, and good humor with which he faithfully discharges the duties of his post; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby honor Tim Flynn for his outstanding service as Capitol nurse practitioner and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Flynn as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
