| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Throughout the Regular Session of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Legislature, nurse practitioner Tim Flynn has helped to enhance and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | maintain the health of countless employees and public officials who |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | work in the Capitol Complex; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Seeing some 30 people a day, Mr. Flynn provides |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | diagnosis and treatment of many conditions, and he also works in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | conjunction with a doctor of the day during the session; his |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | expertise often saves patients from having to take time off from |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | work to make a costly visit to the doctor's office or even the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | emergency room; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Flynn has a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Austin; originally employed by the Texas Department of Human |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Services when he began his tenure as the Capitol nurse in 1992, he |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | became an employee of the Department of Public Safety the following |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | year, and is today employed by the Department of State Health |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Services; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Flynn completed his master's degree in nursing |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | at UT with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in May 2002 and became |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | certified as an advanced practice nurse, or nurse practitioner, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | with a wider range of responsibilities; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Flynn enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | support of his family, including his wife, Becky, and his daughter, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Jessica; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Recognized on May 8, 2007, with the Austin Advanced |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Practice Nurses Alliance Award of Excellence, this exemplary health |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | care professional has earned the respect and friendship of all who |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | work at the Capitol; reliable, hard-working, and knowledgeable, he |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | is justly esteemed for the skill, compassion, and good humor with |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | which he faithfully discharges the duties of his post; now, |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | therefore, be it |

| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby honor Tim Flynn for his outstanding service as |

| 38 | 38 | | Capitol nurse practitioner and extend to him sincere best wishes |
