44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Throughout the Regular Session of the 81st Texas
66 Legislature, nurse practitioner Tim Flynn has helped to enhance and
77 maintain the health of countless employees and public officials who
88 work in the Capitol Complex; and
99 WHEREAS, Seeing some 30 people a day, Mr. Flynn provides
1010 diagnosis and treatment of many conditions, and he also works in
1111 conjunction with a doctor of the day during the session; his
1212 expertise often saves patients from having to take time off from
1313 work to make a costly visit to the doctor's office or even the
1414 emergency room; and
1515 WHEREAS, A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Flynn has a
1616 bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Texas at
1717 Austin; originally employed by the Texas Department of Human
1818 Services when he began his tenure as the Capitol nurse in 1992, he
1919 became an employee of the Department of Public Safety the following
2020 year, and is today employed by the Department of State Health
2121 Services; and
2222 WHEREAS, Mr. Flynn completed his master's degree in nursing
2323 at UT with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in May 2002 and became
2424 certified as an advanced practice nurse, or nurse practitioner,
2525 with a wider range of responsibilities; and
2626 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Flynn enjoys the love and
2727 support of his family, including his wife, Becky, and his daughter,
2828 Jessica; and
2929 WHEREAS, Recognized on May 8, 2007, with the Austin Advanced
3030 Practice Nurses Alliance Award of Excellence, this exemplary health
3131 care professional has earned the respect and friendship of all who
3232 work at the Capitol; reliable, hard-working, and knowledgeable, he
3333 is justly esteemed for the skill, compassion, and good humor with
3434 which he faithfully discharges the duties of his post; now,
3535 therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3737 Legislature hereby honor Tim Flynn for his outstanding service as
3838 Capitol nurse practitioner and extend to him sincere best wishes
3939 for continued success; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for Mr. Flynn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4242 House of Representatives.
