H.R. No. 3059
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Residents of Clint lost a beloved neighbor and
cherished friend with the passing of Ruben Grijalva on February 18,
2009, at the age of 51; and
WHEREAS, Born in El Paso on April 29, 1957, Ruben Grijalva was
the son of Eligio and Magdalena Grijalva; he learned the business of
farming as he grew up by assisting his father, and he later became a
sheet metal worker; and
WHEREAS, A caring husband and father, Mr. Grijalva enjoyed a
rewarding marriage with his wife, Suzie Apodaca; the couple raised
a loving family that grew to include four children, Christopher,
Timothy, Marcus, and Alexander, as well as two grandchildren; Mr.
Grijalva was a faithful parishioner of San Lorenzo Catholic Church
in Clint; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Ruben Grijalva
will remember the way that he brightened their lives with his
kindness and humor, and he will forever hold a treasured place in
their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ruben Grijalva and
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
Suzie Apodaca; to his children, Christopher Ruben, Timothy Eligio,
Marcus, and Alexander Grijalva; to his grandchildren, Maddisson and
Emily; to his mother, Magdalena S. Grijalva; to his siblings,
Martha, Cristina, Rudy, Lupita, Lily, Gracie, Ana, Eddie, Dikki,
and Ronnie; to his brothers-in-law, Joe, Rudy, Louie, George,
Eddie, Frank, and Gilbert; and to his other relatives and friends;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruben
Grijalva.
