| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Citizens of Richardson have greatly benefited from |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the skilled leadership of Pris Hayes, who was elected to the city |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | council in June 2007; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, During her term in office, Ms. Hayes was a strong |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | proponent of environmental responsibility, the arts, technology, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and economic vitality; she played a key role in establishing the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | city's first Environmental Advisory Commission and the GREENCOR web |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | page advising residents about environmental initiatives and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | programs; this committed public servant also worked to establish |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Animal Services Advisory Commission and was a member of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | retail committee and the Texas Municipal League Utilities, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Transportation, and Environment committee; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Hayes has given generously of her time and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | talents since moving to Richardson in 2001; she received a Helping |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Agencies Serving Richardson Volunteer of the Year award and a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Northeast Texas Library System volunteer award and has served on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the boards of Richardson AnimaLuv, Friends of the Library, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Clean and Green in Richardson; among numerous community activities, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | she co-chaired the Children's Library Celebration and led the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | organization of the Owens Park Neighborhood Association; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, An Arkansas native, Ms. Hayes graduated from the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and earned her master's |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | degree in business from Texas A&M University--Commerce; she is |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | employed as a management consultant; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of city government depends |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | on the hard work of dedicated public servants, and Pris Hayes has |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the community she is |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | proud to call home; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby honor Pris Hayes for her contributions as a |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | member of the Richardson City Council and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
