| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Plano greatly benefited from the |

| 6 | 6 | | dedicated leadership of Sally Magnuson during her seven years on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the city council; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Elected to represent Place 4 in 2002, Ms. Magnuson |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | held the position of mayor pro tem from 2007 to 2008 and was deputy |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | mayor pro tem from 2006 to 2007, and her knowledge and expertise in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | a range of community issues have earned her widespread respect; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure in municipal |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | government, Ms. Magnuson has participated in numerous committees |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and organizations, including the Plano Cultural Arts Council, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 121 Task Force, the Multi-Cultural Outreach Roundtable, and Fire |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Team USA; she has also been a liaison to such entities as the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | International Relations Advisory Commission, the Building |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Standards Commission, the Collin County Appraisal District Board, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and the Transportation Advisory Committee, and she has been a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | longtime member of both the Library Advisory Board and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Community Relations Commission; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Sally Magnuson has rendered outstanding public |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | service as a member of the city council, and her achievements have |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | helped to make Plano an even better place in which to live, work, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and raise a family; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Sally Magnuson for her service as a |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | member of the Plano City Council and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
