44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Garnet Austin Coleman was born June 21, 1992, to
66 Garnet and Angelique Coleman; and
77 WHEREAS, Austin was a pretty baby just like all babies are
88 pretty; and
99 WHEREAS, As parents, the Colemans were as nervous as anyone
1010 with a newborn, but when Austin started preschool, it was clear that
1111 he had a bright and promising future ahead of him; and
1212 WHEREAS, Starting the first grade at age 5, Austin went on
1313 through the gifted and talented program at Poe Elementary in
1414 Houston, Texas; and
1515 WHEREAS, He then progressed to the Vanguard program at Lanier
1616 Middle School in Houston, Texas, where in 7th grade he joined the
1717 band and played the flute; and
1818 WHEREAS, From middle school, he advanced to the Vanguard
1919 program at Bellaire Senior High School in Houston, Texas, where he
2020 studied, among other things, Chinese and German, and where he also
2121 became a member of the Cardinals marching band, becoming an officer
2222 of the band in his senior year, and was selected as a member of the
2323 National Honor Society; and
2424 WHEREAS, Austin will attend the University of Southern
2525 California in the fall of 2009, where he will try out for the USC
2626 Spirit of Troy Marching Band; now, therefore, be it
2727 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2828 Legislature hereby honor Garnet Austin Coleman on his graduation
2929 from Bellaire Senior High School and for his outstanding efforts in
3030 academics and music; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Mr. Coleman as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas House of Representatives.
