R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Reed Hilary Ellis Johnson celebrated a significant
milestone in his life on May 29, 2009, when he graduated from
Westlake High School in Austin; and
WHEREAS, A member of the football team for three years, Mr.
Johnson was named the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Athlete of
the Year in 2008; he plans to pursue a degree in business at the
University of Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson enjoys the love and support of his
parents, Gordon and Pam Johnson, and his grandmothers, Judy Johnson
and Joyce Watson; moreover, the accomplishments of his grandfather,
the late Robert E. Johnson, Sr., or "Big Daddy," have served as an
inspiration; and
WHEREAS, Reed Johnson is an outstanding young Texan, and it
is a pleasure to recognize him as he prepares to embark on an
exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Reed Hilary Ellis Johnson on his
graduation from Westlake High School and extend to him sincere best
wishes for success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
