55 WHEREAS, Mi'Eisha Edwards-Nash has been named salutatorian
66 of the Class of 2009 at Kimball High School in Dallas, and for
77 achieving this significant honor, she indeed merits special
88 recognition; and
99 WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
1010 intellect and aptitude, but four years of dedication to the highest
1111 academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
1212 distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
1313 range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
1414 studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
1515 preparation are myriad; and
1616 WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being
1717 recognized as the second highest achieving student in her class,
1818 the salutatorian is frequently the recipient of scholarships and
1919 grants; she also gains the opportunity to address her fellow
2020 seniors at commencement and to reflect on their shared history as
2121 well as their hopes and ambitions for the future; and
2222 WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Mi'Eisha
2323 Edwards-Nash has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers
2424 and classmates at Kimball High School, and her exceptional
2525 scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
2626 surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
2727 remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
2828 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2929 Legislature hereby congratulate Mi'Eisha Edwards-Nash on being
3030 named the 2009 salutatorian at Kimball High School and extend to her
3131 sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors.
