| 7 | 7 | | Baker Middle School in Corpus Christi placed third in the Global |

| 8 | 8 | | Finals competition held May 20 through 23, 2009, in Knoxville, |

| 9 | 9 | | Tennessee; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Destination ImagiNation is an international program |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that promotes cooperation and creative problem solving among |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students; teams compete to find innovative solutions to a variety |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of educational challenges; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After proving their abilities in local tournaments, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the competitors from Baker Middle School advanced to the Global |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Finals along with other select teams from across the United States |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and around the world, becoming the first group from their school to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | earn a spot in the event; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Turning in an exceptional performance with their |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | project on animal communication, the Corpus Christi students |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | finished in third place out of all the international teams |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | participating in the finals event, and this notable achievement has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | brought great credit to their school and community; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The members of the team include Ray Neuberger, Eric |

| 25 | 25 | | Graves, Lora Naismith, Sonya Alexander, Luisa Fuqua, Maddie |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Buschang, and Alexis Gonzales; the students were guided by team |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | managers Debbie Neuberger, Greg Graves, and Alicia Fuqua; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through creativity and hard work, the members of the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Baker Middle School Team have won the respect of their competitors |

| 30 | 30 | | and classmates, and the confidence, skills, and experience they |

| 31 | 31 | | have gained through the Destination ImagiNation program will be of |
