H.R. No. 470 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, On February 19, 2009, Dr. Forrest Lowry is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, Dr. Lowry graduated from Fuller High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a bachelor's degree in speech and drama from Arkansas Tech University; he earned his master's degree in theology and his ministry doctorate from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, and is certified and licensed as a belief therapist by the Therapon Institute; and WHEREAS, This esteemed minister has served as senior pastor for numerous churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas since 1973; currently, he leads the congregation at First Baptist Church in Lexington, Texas, while also working as a reverse mortgage branch sales manager for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; he is married to Linda Kay Lowry and is the proud father of three children, Joshua, Matthew, and Allison; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Lowry works diligently to make a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, and his achievements in that effort are indeed impressive; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Forrest Lowry for his service as Pastor of the Day for this chamber and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in his ministry; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Lowry as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
