44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, On February 19, 2009, Dr. Forrest Lowry is serving
66 as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives; and
77 WHEREAS, Dr. Lowry graduated from Fuller High School in
88 Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a bachelor's degree in speech and
99 drama from Arkansas Tech University; he earned his master's degree
1010 in theology and his ministry doctorate from Mid-America Baptist
1111 Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, and is certified and
1212 licensed as a belief therapist by the Therapon Institute; and
1313 WHEREAS, This esteemed minister has served as senior pastor
1414 for numerous churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas
1515 since 1973; currently, he leads the congregation at First Baptist
1616 Church in Lexington, Texas, while also working as a reverse
1717 mortgage branch sales manager for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; he is
1818 married to Linda Kay Lowry and is the proud father of three
1919 children, Joshua, Matthew, and Allison; and
2020 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Lowry works diligently
2121 to make a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens,
2222 and his achievements in that effort are indeed impressive; now,
2323 therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Forrest
2626 Lowry for his service as Pastor of the Day for this chamber and
2727 extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and
2828 fulfillment in his ministry; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Dr. Lowry as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3131 House of Representatives.
