| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, On February 19, 2009, Dr. Forrest Lowry is serving |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lowry graduated from Fuller High School in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a bachelor's degree in speech and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | drama from Arkansas Tech University; he earned his master's degree |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in theology and his ministry doctorate from Mid-America Baptist |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, and is certified and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | licensed as a belief therapist by the Therapon Institute; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed minister has served as senior pastor |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | for numerous churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | since 1973; currently, he leads the congregation at First Baptist |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Church in Lexington, Texas, while also working as a reverse |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | mortgage branch sales manager for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; he is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | married to Linda Kay Lowry and is the proud father of three |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | children, Joshua, Matthew, and Allison; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Dr. Lowry works diligently |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to make a positive difference in the lives of his fellow citizens, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and his achievements in that effort are indeed impressive; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to Dr. Forrest |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Lowry for his service as Pastor of the Day for this chamber and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | fulfillment in his ministry; and, be it further |
|---|
