H.R. No. 524 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer James R. O'Donnell of Austin has rendered outstanding service to this country as a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve; and WHEREAS, Chief Petty Officer O'Donnell joined the Reserve in October 1985, and he served with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 22 throughout his distinguished 21-year tenure; his duties included training troops and readying them for battle; and WHEREAS, Through his dedication and professionalism, he held such positions as leading petty officer, assistant officer-in-charge, and officer-in-charge of the NMCB 22 Detachment 06, in which he oversaw 52 reservists; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Chief Petty Officer O'Donnell has been blessed with the support of his wife, Angie, and his son, Weston; and WHEREAS, Supporting and augmenting active-duty troops, reservists are an integral and vital part of the U.S. Navy, and Jim O'Donnell's generous contributions to his country are most deserving of his fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby honor U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer James R. O'Donnell for his outstanding service to this country and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Chief Petty Officer O'Donnell as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
