| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Austin Area Life Affirming Coalition (AALAC) has |

| 7 | 7 | | been formed to coordinate the life efforts for the Central Texas |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | area and beyond, and representatives of the organization are |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | visiting the State Capitol on February 24, 2009; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, AALAC realized the need for a Christian-based |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | coordination of efforts regarding health, education, resources, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and housing, and it has received vital support from churches of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Central Texas area; through combined efforts, countless people are |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | being offered the help they desperately need; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Building on a strong foundation of religious faith, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | AALAC is preparing generations of students for professional |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | success, lifelong learning, and meaningful service to others; the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | coalition has stayed true to its mission while adapting to an |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | ever-changing world; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, AALAC also provides services for students from other |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | countries and gives resources to other countries, and it urges its |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | clients to take an active role in community service; outreach |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | efforts have included serving universities, high schools, middle |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | schools, churches, hospitals, and battered women's shelters; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In association with more than 2,300 other |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | like-minded organizations across the country, AALAC is providing |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | important resources for its community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby recognize members of the Austin Area Life |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Affirming Coalition who are visiting the State Capitol on this day |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
