H.R. No. 571
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jacob Warner of Elgin was awarded the prize for the
grand champion steer at the Bastrop County Livestock Show and Elgin
Youth Fair, which took place January 16 and 17, 2009, in Elgin; and
WHEREAS, The son of Terry and Dr. Gary Warner, Jacob Warner is
a student at Elgin Middle School; he has enjoyed previous success in
livestock shows, including a January 2008 victory in the Simbrah
breed class at the Independent Cattlemen's Association 8th Annual
Beef Expo in Gonzales; and
WHEREAS, This young man's accomplishments are part of a
family tradition; his father is a well-known veterinarian, and his
older sisters, Jenna and Kelly, showed animals in livestock
competitions and have gone on to pursue studies in veterinary
medicine at Texas A&M University; and
WHEREAS, Jacob Warner may take justifiable pride in his
triumph in the Bastrop County event, and this achievement is sure to
remain a cherished memory for him in the years ahead; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jacob Warner on showing the grand
champion steer at the Bastrop County Livestock Show and Elgin Youth
Fair and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Warner as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
