| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Larry Allen is retiring from the Mesquite |

| 6 | 6 | | Police Department in 2009, drawing to a close a notable career in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | law enforcement that has spanned nearly three decades; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his exemplary 29-year tenure, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lieutenant Allen has distinguished himself as a supervisor in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | numerous departments, including patrol, internal affairs, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criminal investigations; most recently he has served as supervisor |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of communications, detentions, the police property room, police |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | records, and the automobile impound; this highly respected peace |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | officer has also been an invaluable member of the family support |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | team, providing assistance and counsel to employees during times of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | crisis; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Allen has been named the Exchange Club of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Mesquite Officer of the Year and the CPA Officer of the Month, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | he has earned awards and commendations for perfect attendance, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | firearms proficiency, and his 15-year record of safe driving; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Lieutenant Allen's dedication, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the members of his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | community, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | well-spent as he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Larry Allen on the |

| 28 | 28 | | occasion of his retirement from the Mesquite Police Department and |

| 29 | 29 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
