No. 580 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Daisy DeLeon Hannah Procter of Houston, who passed away on January 14, 2009; and WHEREAS, The eldest child of Reba and Mack Hannah, the former Daisy Hannah earned her bachelor's degree from West Virginia State University; she continued her schooling at Texas Southern University, where she graduated with a master's degree in education, and she gave 34 years of faithful service to the Houston Independent School District before her retirement in 1984; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Procter was active in a number of organizations, serving as a member of Jack and Jill of America and the Houston Public Library board; in addition, she belonged to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for more than a half-century and took great pride in her 60-year affiliation with The Coterie, a local social club; and WHEREAS, Daisy Hannah Procter touched the lives of many people throughout the decades, and she will be remembered fondly by all those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Daisy DeLeon Hannah Procter and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Reba Huff and Harrel G. Tillman, Jr., and his wife, Carol; to her grandchildren, Keith G. Huff, Jr., Mack and Gabrielle Hickman, and Lauren and Blake Tillman; to her mother, Reba Hannah; to her sister, Barbra Keys, and her husband, Daniel; to her sister-in-law, Eve Hannah; to her nieces, Jane Flowers and her husband, George, Marguerite Middleton and her husband, Preston, and Robin McIntyre and her husband, Kheil; to her nephews, Corby Hannah and his wife, Terri, Craig Hannah, and Joseph Johnson and his wife, Rene; to her cousins, Phyllis Ellis, Novella Corzine, and Theresa Jackson; to her dear friend, Jo Louise Johnson; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Daisy Hannah Procter.
