55 WHEREAS, Members of the 2008-2009 Leadership Mid Valley class
66 are visiting the State Capitol to gain further insight into the
77 workings of state government; and
88 WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that
99 provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership
1010 skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and
1111 WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
1212 diverse membership with networking opportunities and instruction
1313 from knowledgeable figures who encourage students to acquaint
1414 themselves with community needs and problems while evaluating
1515 possible solutions; and
1616 WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes
1717 Nancy Pena, Jesse Colin, Annette Turner, Nels Anderson, Yvonne
1818 Chamblin, Priscilla Castaneda, Rolando Pedraza, Allison
1919 Summersett, Mari Aviles, and Vicky de la Garza; and
2020 WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
2121 citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the program is
2222 helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
2323 Star State; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Mid Valley to the State
2626 Capitol and extend to all participants sincere best wishes for
2727 continued success.
