No. 627 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The vitality of our communities depends in great part on the selfless efforts of civic-minded Texans, and Cherre Cain of Port Lavaca is indeed one such individual; and WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Cain founded By Request, a gourmet food manufacturing company, and has advised other small start-up companies on creating markets for their products; today, she is a real estate agent and a certified relocation specialist, and she owns Ella Belles Boutiques in Port Lavaca, Rockport, and Kerrville; and WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan is a member of the Calhoun County Rotary Club and a life member of the Paul Harris Society; she has served as president of the Calhoun County Board of Realtors, as a board member for Texas Tourism and the Calhoun County Rural Rail District, and as a mentor for the Calhoun County Independent School District; and WHEREAS, Her deep interest in Texas history has been evidenced in her work as president of the Texas Settlement Region board, as a board member for the Texas Independence Trail and the Friends of the Calhoun County Museum, and as chair of the Calhoun County Historical Commission and the Calhoun County Museum board; moreover, she established the Calhoun County ISD Junior Historian Club, which won an award from the Texas Historical Commission; and WHEREAS, For her many contributions to the community, Ms. Cain has been recognized as Calhoun County Woman of the Year; she has also been named Realtor of the Year; and WHEREAS, Time and again, Cherre Cain has demonstrated enthusiasm for the culture and history of Texas and devotion to the enrichment of her community, and she has earned the respect and gratitude of many of her follow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Cherre Cain on her contributions to Calhoun County and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Cain as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
