7 | 7 | | Cain of Port Lavaca is indeed one such individual; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, Ms. Cain founded By |

9 | 9 | | Request, a gourmet food manufacturing company, and has advised |
---|
10 | 10 | | other small start-up companies on creating markets for their |
---|
11 | 11 | | products; today, she is a real estate agent and a certified |
---|
12 | 12 | | relocation specialist, and she owns Ella Belles Boutiques in Port |
---|
13 | 13 | | Lavaca, Rockport, and Kerrville; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan is a member of the Calhoun County |
---|
15 | 15 | | Rotary Club and a life member of the Paul Harris Society; she has |
---|
16 | 16 | | served as president of the Calhoun County Board of Realtors, as a |
---|
17 | 17 | | board member for Texas Tourism and the Calhoun County Rural Rail |
---|
18 | 18 | | District, and as a mentor for the Calhoun County Independent School |
---|
19 | 19 | | District; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Her deep interest in Texas history has been |

21 | 21 | | evidenced in her work as president of the Texas Settlement Region |

22 | 22 | | board, as a board member for the Texas Independence Trail and the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Friends of the Calhoun County Museum, and as chair of the Calhoun |
---|
24 | 24 | | County Historical Commission and the Calhoun County Museum board; |

25 | 25 | | moreover, she established the Calhoun County ISD Junior Historian |
---|
26 | 26 | | Club, which won an award from the Texas Historical Commission; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, For her many contributions to the community, Ms. |

28 | 28 | | Cain has been recognized as Calhoun County Woman of the Year; she |
---|
29 | 29 | | has also been named Realtor of the Year; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Time and again, Cherre Cain has demonstrated |
---|
31 | 31 | | enthusiasm for the culture and history of Texas and devotion to the |
---|
32 | 32 | | enrichment of her community, and she has earned the respect and |
---|
33 | 33 | | gratitude of many of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
---|
34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby commend Cherre Cain on her contributions to |

36 | 36 | | Calhoun County and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
