H.R. No. 63
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, C. T. Eddins Elementary School of the McKinney
Independent School District was named a 2007 No Child Left
Behind--Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of
Education; and
WHEREAS, The NCLB--Blue Ribbon Schools program honors public
and private elementary and secondary schools that have shown
dramatic improvement or that have scored among the top 10 percent of
schools on state or national assessment tests; and
WHEREAS, One of only 24 schools in Texas and 287 schools
nationwide to receive this prestigious award in 2007, Eddins
Elementary was the fourth school in the McKinney ISD to be so
recognized; moreover, Eddins has further demonstrated its
excellence by being consistently rated as exemplary by the Texas
Education Agency; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Principal Melanie Raleeh and
Assistant Principal Sharon Havard, the teachers and students of
Eddins Elementary have accomplished great things through
commitment, hard work, and perseverance, and their outstanding
achievements were duly recognized with this Blue Ribbon School
designation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor C. T. Eddins Elementary School on its
selection as a 2007 No Child Left Behind--Blue Ribbon School and
extend to its teachers, students, and staff sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for C. T. Eddins Elementary School as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
