| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Peter and Esther Cordova of Midland |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on January 31, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Sweetwater, the former Esther Martinez |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | met Pete Cordova in 1959, in his hometown of Odessa, where the pair |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | were joined in marriage that same year; they lived in that city |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | until the mid-1960s when they moved to Midland; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Since becoming husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Cordova have nurtured a fulfilling relationship that has been |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | further enriched by their 5 children, Belinda Granado, Brenda |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Dominguez, Pete Cordova, Jr., Sonya Marin, and Denny "Dino" |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Cordova; they have also shared the joy of welcoming 15 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren into their family; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |

| 20 | 20 | | Cordova are committed Republicans and avid Lee High School |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | supporters; now both retired, Mr. Cordova worked for Rogers Ford |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | while Mrs. Cordova was an employee of Manor Park; and |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This devoted couple have shared five decades of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Peter and Esther Cordova on their |

| 29 | 29 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
