44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Members of the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce are
66 gathering at the State Capitol on March 5, 2009, and their visit
77 provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the achievements of
88 these outstanding civic leaders; and
99 WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce
1010 works diligently to promote the growth and advancement of southern
1111 Waller County and northwestern Fort Bend County through economic
1212 and community development programs; and
1313 WHEREAS, This notable organization is made up of
1414 approximately 80 businesses, professionals, and citizens from a
1515 250-square-mile area west of Houston, including the towns of
1616 Brookshire, Pattison, Fulshear, and Simonton; located in the
1717 agriculturally rich watershed of the Brazos River, the region
1818 thrives on farming, ranching, manufacturing, and
1919 transportation-dependent industries; and
2020 WHEREAS, The vision and leadership provided by the West I-10
2121 Chamber of Commerce have been truly invaluable to the betterment of
2222 this East Texas community, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor the
2323 chamber at this time; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commend the West I-10 Chamber of Commerce for
2626 its dedicated service to the community and extend to its members
2727 sincere best wishes for continued success with their important
2828 work; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3131 House of Representatives.
