| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The well-being of the citizens of Texas depends on |

| 7 | 7 | | businesses that employ Texans and contribute to local economies are |

| 8 | 8 | | important components of a prosperous future; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ware Chevrolet Buick Pontiac has served Wheeler |

| 10 | 10 | | residents for six decades, and the business is celebrating the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | anniversary of its founding on May 1, 2009; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Established as Ware Chevrolet in 1949 by N. D. and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Kate Ware, this notable Panhandle dealership has increased its size |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and offerings through the years; today, after three moves, the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | business operates out of a facility on the southern edge of Wheeler, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and it has expanded its line of cars to include Buick and Pontiac; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A number of Ware family members have staffed the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | business since its opening, including N. D. Ware, Jr., and his wife, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Roberta, Betty and Bob McNeil, Bob, Kent, and Gary Ware and his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | wife, Tresa, Danny McNeil, and Norma McNeil Keelin and her husband, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Gene; also helping to maintain the success of the dealership are |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Donnie Shorter, Willie Stowe, Martha Patterson, and Harold Morgan; |
|---|

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, After 60 years of operation, Ware Chevrolet Buick |

| 26 | 26 | | Pontiac continues to make an important contribution to the Wheeler |

| 27 | 27 | | area, and it is a pleasure to honor the company during this |

| 28 | 28 | | milestone year; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 60th anniversary of the |

| 31 | 31 | | establishment of Ware Chevrolet Buick Pontiac and extend to all |

| 32 | 32 | | those associated with the enterprise sincere best wishes for |
