H.R. No. 664 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, David McKinnon White of Boy Scouts of America Crew No. 670 in San Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout insignia is a significant honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. White earned the requisite 21 merit badges, including those requiring expertise in such diverse areas as leatherwork, archery, and aviation, and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which consisted in part of the placement of markers to identify plants in Friedrich Wilderness Park; and WHEREAS, The son of Leslie White, this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest distinction that scouting offers; he was venturing crew president, and, as a Cub Scout, he earned the Arrow of Light Award; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout White's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate David McKinnon White on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. White as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
