| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, David McKinnon White of Boy Scouts of America Crew |

| 6 | 6 | | No. 670 in San Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and |

| 7 | 7 | | this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout insignia is a significant |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criteria, Mr. White earned the requisite 21 merit badges, including |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | those requiring expertise in such diverse areas as leatherwork, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | archery, and aviation, and successfully completed an Eagle Scout |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | project of benefit to his community, which consisted in part of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | placement of markers to identify plants in Friedrich Wilderness |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Park; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The son of Leslie White, this fine young Texan has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | scouts as he worked toward the highest distinction that scouting |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | offers; he was venturing crew president, and, as a Cub Scout, he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | earned the Arrow of Light Award; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout White's dedication to excellence and his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate David McKinnon White on achieving |

| 29 | 29 | | the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
