| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada, Sr., of the |

| 6 | 6 | | Dallas Police Department was killed in the line of duty on February |

| 7 | 7 | | 22, 2008, at the age of 49, and his untimely death was a tragic loss |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to his family, to his fellow peace officers, and to the citizens of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Dallas; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Lozada exemplified in his personal |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and professional conduct the singular virtues of courage, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | integrity, and unwavering dedication; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his 20-year tenure on the force, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | compiled a record of meritorious service, earning 138 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | commendations, a Life Saving Award, and a Certificate of Merit; he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | also worked to keep young people out of harm's way by encouraging |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | them to stay off the streets and out of gangs; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Devotion to family and community formed the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | foundation on which this highly respected public servant built his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | life, and he will long be remembered for his commitment to helping |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | others; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Senior Corporal |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Victor Lozada and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | family: to his wife, Theresa Lozada; to his children, Victor |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Antonio Lozada, Jr., Lisa Anne Lozada, Stephanie Andrea Lozada, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | David Alexander Lozada; to his mother, Josefina Lozada; to his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sisters and brother; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
