H.R. No. 678
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
welcome the registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses who
are visiting as part of Nurse Day at the State Capitol on March 3,
2009; and
WHEREAS, The 162,000 registered nurses and 67,000 licensed
vocational nurses who care for Texans every day in hospitals, in
nursing homes, through home health agencies, and in other settings
are critical to the quality of health care in our state; and
WHEREAS, Nurses are consistently rated by national polls as
among the highest ranking professionals in honesty and ethics, and
they are indeed deserving of our respect and admiration; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby recognize March 3, 2009, as Nurse Day at the
State Capitol and commend all nurses in Texas for their invaluable
service to the state.
