| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A century of joyful memories and meaningful |

| 6 | 6 | | accomplishments is truly reason to celebrate, and on March 6, 2009, |

| 7 | 7 | | one very special Texan, Edith Schulze Stromberg, will do just that |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | as she observes the 100th anniversary of her birth; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Stromberg was born in 1909 to Augusta Dietert |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Schulze and Herman Schulze; she grew up on Split Rock Farm near |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Kerrville, where she made special memories swimming in the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Guadalupe River, attending parties, and spending time with family; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Tivy High School in 1927, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mrs. Stromberg earned her bachelor's degree from the Texas State |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | College for Women in Denton and relocated to Austin to teach home |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | economics with AISD; in 1934, she married her beloved husband, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | R. E. Stromberg, in a ceremony held at her family farm; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The granddaughter of Kerrville pioneers Christian |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and Rosalie Dietert, Mrs. Stromberg is proud of her distinctive |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Lone Star heritage, and through the years she has honored her legacy |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | by cherishing family letters and photos; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of the past century, Edith Stromberg |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | has brought happiness into the lives of all those fortunate enough |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to share in her love and friendship, and it is a pleasure to join in |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | honoring her for 100 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Edith Schulze Stromberg on her |

| 29 | 29 | | 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
