5	5	WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Kenneth
6	6	Ray Knowles of Wichita Falls, who passed away on February 6, 2009,
7	7	at the age of 69; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born in the town of Fry on February 10, 1939, to
9	9	William and Pearlie Knowles, Kenneth Knowles moved as a young man to
10	10	Lubbock to attend college, and he graduated from Texas Tech
11	11	University; he married Roberta Fern and had the pleasure of
12	12	welcoming into his family three children, Angela, Kent, and Kristy,
13	13	as well as seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild over the
14	14	course of his lifetime; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Mr. Knowles founded Central Bail Bonds in 1978 and
16	16	expanded it into one of the largest privately held bail bond
17	17	businesses in Texas; he was instrumental in the formation of
18	18	Professional Bail Agents of the United States, and he maintained
19	19	memberships in such organizations as the Better Business Bureau,
20	20	BCI, and Professional Bondsmen of Texas; moreover, he was active in
21	21	various community organizations and was a congregant of Thornberry
22	22	Baptist Church; and
23	23	WHEREAS, While the death of Kenneth Knowles has brought great
24	24	sorrow to those who knew him, memories of his kindness and
25	25	generosity will be forever treasured by all who were privileged to
26	26	share in the richness of his life; now, therefore, be it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
28	28	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kenneth Ray Knowles
29	29	and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to Vera
30	30	Knowles; to his children, Angela Faye Burgher, Kent Aaron Knowles,
31	31	and Kristy Renee Knowles-Acker; to his sister, Patsy Knowles Cox,
32	32	and her husband, Ronnie; to his grandchildren, Talya Nicole
33	33	Burgher, Chase Michael Burgher, Koby Joseph Knowles, Tori Ray Piner
34	34	Burgher, Kennzie Dennise Knowles, Jack Kent Knowles, and Cole
35	35	Kristopher Acker; to his great-grandson, Zephyr Keith Scoughton;
36	36	and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
37	37	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
38	38	prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
39	39	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
40	40	Knowles.
