44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Kenneth
66 Ray Knowles of Wichita Falls, who passed away on February 6, 2009,
77 at the age of 69; and
88 WHEREAS, Born in the town of Fry on February 10, 1939, to
99 William and Pearlie Knowles, Kenneth Knowles moved as a young man to
1010 Lubbock to attend college, and he graduated from Texas Tech
1111 University; he married Roberta Fern and had the pleasure of
1212 welcoming into his family three children, Angela, Kent, and Kristy,
1313 as well as seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild over the
1414 course of his lifetime; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Knowles founded Central Bail Bonds in 1978 and
1616 expanded it into one of the largest privately held bail bond
1717 businesses in Texas; he was instrumental in the formation of
1818 Professional Bail Agents of the United States, and he maintained
1919 memberships in such organizations as the Better Business Bureau,
2020 BCI, and Professional Bondsmen of Texas; moreover, he was active in
2121 various community organizations and was a congregant of Thornberry
2222 Baptist Church; and
2323 WHEREAS, While the death of Kenneth Knowles has brought great
2424 sorrow to those who knew him, memories of his kindness and
2525 generosity will be forever treasured by all who were privileged to
2626 share in the richness of his life; now, therefore, be it
2727 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2828 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kenneth Ray Knowles
2929 and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to Vera
3030 Knowles; to his children, Angela Faye Burgher, Kent Aaron Knowles,
3131 and Kristy Renee Knowles-Acker; to his sister, Patsy Knowles Cox,
3232 and her husband, Ronnie; to his grandchildren, Talya Nicole
3333 Burgher, Chase Michael Burgher, Koby Joseph Knowles, Tori Ray Piner
3434 Burgher, Kennzie Dennise Knowles, Jack Kent Knowles, and Cole
3535 Kristopher Acker; to his great-grandson, Zephyr Keith Scoughton;
3636 and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
3737 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3838 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3939 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
4040 Knowles.
