| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce are |

| 7 | 7 | | visiting the State Capitol on March 11, 2009, and their attendance |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | provides a fitting opportunity to recognize the achievements of the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | organization and these outstanding civic leaders; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1945, the Grand Prairie Chamber of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Commerce pursues the goal of supporting Grand Prairie through |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | economic and community development programs, working diligently to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | promote the growth and advancement of the city; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An association of businesses, professionals, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | citizens, the chamber currently serves 654 members; its efforts |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | also include providing scholarships to students, supporting area |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | nonprofit organizations, and acting as the voice of local |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | businesses to local, state, and federal government; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The direction and planning provided by the Grand |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Prairie Chamber of Commerce have been truly invaluable to the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | betterment of this North Texas community, and it is indeed a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | pleasure to honor the chamber at this time; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 11, 2009, as Grand Prairie |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Chamber of Commerce Day at the State Capitol and commend all those |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | associated with the group for their dedicated service to their |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | community; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 29 | 29 | | prepared for the chamber as an expression of high regard by the |
