| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The passing of Ann K. Schwank of Houston on August |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 29, 2008, at the age of 80, has deeply saddened all those who were |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | fortunate enough to know her; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native Texan, the former Ann Knippers was born to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lewis and Hattie Knippers on July 18, 1928, in Nacogdoches and grew |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | up in Port Arthur; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She married Theodore Edward Schwank on August 19, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1953, and the couple shared a fulfilling union until Mr. Schwank's |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | passing; the loving mother of two children, Ted and the late Gail |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Schwank, she also delighted in her granddaughter, Bridgette; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to serving as a PBX operator for the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Houston Post, Mrs. Schwank owned and operated Ann K's of Houston |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Hair Salon in the Heights neighborhood for many years; she was a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | member of Second Baptist Church and took a lifelong pleasure in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leisure pursuits of crochet and arts and crafts; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ann Schwank lived a life that was enriched by |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | cherished family and friends, rewarding work and hobbies, and an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | abiding faith, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | hearts of her loved ones; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ann K. Schwank and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Ted Schwank, and his wife, Tiffani; to her granddaughter, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Bridgette; to her nieces, Darla Gaudet and April Giles Sowell; to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | her nephews, Jimmy and Mark Giles; and to her other relatives and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | friends; and, be it further |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
