H.R. No. 733 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may comfort those saddened by the death of Mae King Wong Lim of Houston on August 21, 2008, at the age of 87; and WHEREAS, Born on January 21, 1921, in Toi Shan, China, Mrs. Lim immigrated to the United States in 1949; she and her husband, the late Hong Share Lim, nurtured a fulfilling marriage that was blessed with three daughters, Suey, Josephine, and Mabel, and a son, the late Soon Lim; deeply devoted to her family, "Popo," as she was affectionately called, delighted in the arrival over the years of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, This woman of abiding faith taught a Sunday school class that was attended by Chinese-speaking adults at Grace Chapel; she further served the congregation as an elder and a deaconess; and WHEREAS, Mae Lim enriched the lives of others through her encouragement and many kindnesses, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of her loved ones; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mae King Wong Lim and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her daughters and sons-in-law, Suey Ping and Johnny Eng, Josephine and Eddie Choy, and Mabel and Eric Yang; to her grandchildren, Annie Fernandez, Grace and Hector Rodriguez, Morris and Connie Lim, Betty and Chris Lim, Nancy and Paul Liu, Mary Ann and Larry Lee, Peggy Eng, Karen Choy, and Jeanette Choy; to her 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mae King Wong Lim.
