| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ridglea Hills Elementary School in Fort Worth was |

| 7 | 7 | | National Center for Educational Achievement; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1995 by the NCEA, Just for the Kids is |

| 9 | 9 | | a program designed to find and fulfill every school's potential for |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | reaching academic excellence and to ensure that all students are |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | prepared for college and careers; JFTK identifies Higher Performing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Schools that meet stringent criteria over multiple years and across |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | all subjects; the best practices of these institutions are measured |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | to determine a framework for improvement in other schools, and the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Higher Performing Schools serve as models for raising scholastic |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | standards nationwide; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Known as the "Home of the Mustangs," Ridglea Hills |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Elementary opened in 1955 in the western area of Fort Worth; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | skillfully led by principal Clifford K. Mayer, this noteworthy |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | school seeks to fulfill its mission of providing a quality learning |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | environment in which all children achieve educational success, and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | it has obtained a "Recognized" rating from the Texas Education |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Agency; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through commitment, hard work, and perseverance, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the teachers and students of Ridglea Hills Elementary School have |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | built an impressive record of academic achievement, and their |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | outstanding efforts were duly recognized with this Higher |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Performing School designation; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Ridglea Hills Elementary School on its |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | selection as a 2008 Just for the Kids--Higher Performing School and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | extend to its teachers, students, and staff sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | continued success; and, be it further |
