 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, "On the Road Again Seniors" from Southeast Harris
 County are visiting the Capitol on March 10, 2009, providing a
 welcome opportunity to pay tribute to these remarkable men and
 women; and
 WHEREAS, Founded some 20 years ago, On the Road Again Seniors
 pay homage to country-and-western musician Willie Nelson by "going
 places that they've never been"; the group has traveled countless
 miles across the state, stopping in cities large and small to attend
 operas and plays and visit state parks and museums; in addition,
 members enjoy monthly meetings and annual Christmas celebrations;
 and
 WHEREAS, Senior citizens play a significant role in the Lone
 Star State; through the decades, they have helped Texas to achieve
 greatness in a broad range of fields, including industry, the arts,
 agriculture, education, information technology, space exploration,
 and more; and
 WHEREAS, Witnesses to monumental events during their
 lifetimes, many residents age 60 and older have served their nation
 in times of war, and they have also helped to maintain peace in
 postings around the globe; and
 WHEREAS, The experience and wisdom gained by senior Texans
 make them revered mentors and role models to younger generations;
 among the lessons taught by On the Road Again Seniors is the value
 of leading an active and healthy life well into the golden years,
 and the group's ongoing achievements set an inspiring example to
 which all may aspire; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize March 10, 2009, as "On the Road Again
 Seniors" Day at the State Capitol and extend to all participants
 best wishes for an enjoyable and rewarding visit to Austin.
