| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Mexican American Democrats of Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Hispanic population, and their groundbreaking efforts have helped |

| 8 | 8 | | to ensure that the voices of all our citizens are heard and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its presidents |

| 11 | 11 | | through the years, the Mexican American Democrats of Texas has |

| 12 | 12 | | successfully increased the representation of Hispanic Texans at the |

| 13 | 13 | | local, state, and national levels and will undoubtedly continue |

| 14 | 14 | | this proud tradition throughout the years to come; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Following in the footsteps of such groups as La Raza |

| 16 | 16 | | Unida and the Southwest Voter Registration Project, members of the |

| 17 | 17 | | Mexican American Democrats of Texas have employed grassroots |

| 18 | 18 | | methods to reach the largest audience possible; by actively |

| 19 | 19 | | soliciting their constituents' opinions and faithfully |

| 20 | 20 | | representing their concerns, they have demonstrated the truest |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | ideals of the democratic process; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby honor the 2010 president and all former |

| 24 | 24 | | presidents of the Mexican American Democrats of Texas and extend to |

| 25 | 25 | | them warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness in all |
