5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church |

6 | 6 | | in Fort Worth gathered on February 17, 2009, to celebrate the 50th |

7 | 7 | | birthday of the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr.; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Beaumont, Julius Jackson was born in |
---|
9 | 9 | | 1959 to Dr. Julius L. Jackson, Sr., and JoAnn Bostic Jackson; at the |
---|
10 | 10 | | age of 10, he relocated with his family to Fort Worth, where he |
---|
11 | 11 | | graduated from O. D. Wyatt High School in 1976; he attended |
---|
12 | 12 | | Morehouse College in Atlanta before serving in the U.S. Army, and he |
---|
13 | 13 | | went on to resume his studies at Butler University in Indianapolis, |
---|
14 | 14 | | earning a bachelor's degree in theological studies in 1988; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Having served as a pastor in Kentucky and Indiana, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Reverend Jackson succeeded his father as the leader of the |
---|
17 | 17 | | Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in October 1999; admired among |
---|
18 | 18 | | his congregants, he is known for his effective and inspiring |
---|
19 | 19 | | sermons, and he is currently pursuing a dual master's and doctoral |
---|
20 | 20 | | degree in theological studies from Andersonville Theological |
---|
21 | 21 | | Seminary; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman has further distinguished |
---|
23 | 23 | | himself through his involvement in various ministerial |
---|
24 | 24 | | organizations; he has served as president of the Baptist Ministers |
---|
25 | 25 | | Union, moderator of the Harmony Baptist District Association, and |
---|
26 | 26 | | president of the Ministers Conference for the Progressive Baptist |
---|
27 | 27 | | State Convention of Texas; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the |
---|
28 | 28 | | love and support of his wife, Dia, and his three children, Jessica, |
---|
29 | 29 | | Julius, and Deion; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson works diligently in behalf of his |
---|
31 | 31 | | community of faith, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on |
---|
32 | 32 | | his accomplishments as he commemorates this special milestone in |
---|
33 | 33 | | his life; now, therefore, be it |
---|
34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr., on |

36 | 36 | | the occasion of his 50th birthday and extend to him sincere best |

37 | 37 | | wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
