44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Members of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church
66 in Fort Worth gathered on February 17, 2009, to celebrate the 50th
77 birthday of the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr.; and
88 WHEREAS, A native of Beaumont, Julius Jackson was born in
99 1959 to Dr. Julius L. Jackson, Sr., and JoAnn Bostic Jackson; at the
1010 age of 10, he relocated with his family to Fort Worth, where he
1111 graduated from O. D. Wyatt High School in 1976; he attended
1212 Morehouse College in Atlanta before serving in the U.S. Army, and he
1313 went on to resume his studies at Butler University in Indianapolis,
1414 earning a bachelor's degree in theological studies in 1988; and
1515 WHEREAS, Having served as a pastor in Kentucky and Indiana,
1616 Reverend Jackson succeeded his father as the leader of the
1717 Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in October 1999; admired among
1818 his congregants, he is known for his effective and inspiring
1919 sermons, and he is currently pursuing a dual master's and doctoral
2020 degree in theological studies from Andersonville Theological
2121 Seminary; and
2222 WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman has further distinguished
2323 himself through his involvement in various ministerial
2424 organizations; he has served as president of the Baptist Ministers
2525 Union, moderator of the Harmony Baptist District Association, and
2626 president of the Ministers Conference for the Progressive Baptist
2727 State Convention of Texas; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the
2828 love and support of his wife, Dia, and his three children, Jessica,
2929 Julius, and Deion; and
3030 WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson works diligently in behalf of his
3131 community of faith, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on
3232 his accomplishments as he commemorates this special milestone in
3333 his life; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3535 Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr., on
3636 the occasion of his 50th birthday and extend to him sincere best
3737 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3939 prepared for Reverend Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
4040 Texas House of Representatives.
