44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Midland Memorial Hospital has won two awards from
66 the American Heart Association in 2009 as a participant in its Get
77 with the Guidelines program; and
88 WHEREAS, Established in 2000, the AHA's Get with the
99 Guidelines initiative is a quality improvement program that seeks
1010 to ensure that hospital treatment of coronary artery disease, heart
1111 failure, and stroke is aligned with the most current scientific
1212 guidelines and evidence-based procedures and therapies; Midland
1313 Memorial became the first area hospital to join the GWTG--Coronary
1414 Artery Disease program in 2004; and
1515 WHEREAS, For the second consecutive year, the hospital
1616 received a gold award from the AHA in recognition of its long-term
1717 efforts to combat coronary artery disease; the hospital also
1818 received a silver award acknowledging more than 12 consecutive
1919 months of adherence to performance measures for preventing heart
2020 failure; and
2121 WHEREAS, For over 50 years, Midland Memorial has provided
2222 quality patient care, and the AHA awards exemplify this fine
2323 institution's outstanding commitment to excellence; now,
2424 therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate the staff of Midland Memorial
2727 Hospital on winning two awards from the American Heart
2828 Association's Get with the Guidelines program and extend to these
2929 dedicated professionals best wishes for continued success; and, be
3030 it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Midland Memorial Hospital as an expression of high
3333 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
