5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The City of Irving has developed an incentive-based |

6 | 6 | | fitness initiative, the Irving Wellness Incentive Now (IWIN) |

7 | 7 | | program, to reward workers for achieving and maintaining good |

8 | 8 | | health; and |

9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Based on personal responsibility, the IWIN program |

10 | 10 | | builds upon the knowledge that good health can lead to a richer, |
---|
11 | 11 | | fuller life; IWIN participants receive increased funding |
---|
12 | 12 | | opportunities for their health savings accounts and other medical |
---|
13 | 13 | | costs and are offered a number of worthwhile benefits, including |
---|
14 | 14 | | wellness seminars and workshops, group fitness events, lunch |
---|
15 | 15 | | programs, and the use of fitness facilities; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, To enhance the program's prospects for success, the |
---|
17 | 17 | | City of Irving has dedicated staff to ensure the IWIN program |
---|
18 | 18 | | realizes its goals and enhances the lives of all City of Irving |
---|
19 | 19 | | employees; and |

20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A proactive and beneficial example of municipal |

21 | 21 | | innovation, the IWIN program will improve the health of |

22 | 22 | | participants, decrease medical costs, and help employees to meet |
---|
23 | 23 | | their full productive potential; now, therefore, be it |
---|
24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend the City of Irving for its Irving |
---|
26 | 26 | | Wellness Incentive Now program and extend sincere best wishes for |
---|
27 | 27 | | continued success to all those associated with the initiative. |
